Well the big operation is tomorrow (14 September).

It’s been a weird week trying to recover from the first operation. I had expected that every day would get a little better and by this time I would be feeling relatively good and ready to go, however, it hasn’t been like that.

Everyday new pains seem to come about so Thursday was good Friday was really bad and had to increase pain medication, Saturday was ok (thanks to pain medication J) and today has been good.

The worst over the last few days is that the magic food Jelly has lost its magic and the preference for cold food has had to move to hot food due to tooth aches and headaches I am now getting.

Anyway the big focus is tomorrow and although a little pain to go through first am happy I am on the right path.

About the operation

So in this operation they remove the cancer, part of the tongue and I believe the tonsils and some other not so critical things. They do this using the Da Vinci machine which I have added details below on.

A few have asked about visiting, hospital etc… for this operation.

Well the hospital details are

St Vincent’s Private, 406 Victoria St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Surgeon is: Richard Gallagher

I go in at 7am and presume operation will be complete by about 2pm. Expected to be in hospital at least 5 days.

Will welcome visitors but check back here on the site as Kirsten will post details on that I believe.
